darkness yields it's own fruition

The other night I had a lucid and vivid dream. My eldest daughter and I were hiking through Amman...not through the bustling streets or city centers but in the hills. And there were trees. So many towering trees.

In fact, it was a forest that did not exist really in Amman. But such was my dream. I was photographing the trees with her; they were immense. Some over 400 feet high. I recall being spoken to by some unseen voice, a voice that wanted to know why exactly I thought it was okay for this forest to be cut down. I couldn't put into words why I felt that, I only knew that it would be okay.

My opinions were met with disdain, I was scolded. Chastised. Made fun of for my views. {I didn't let it faze me. Really. I kept doing what I was doing. The opinions of others met with my immunity. Such a lovely, empowering feeling.}

I kept hiking until I discovered I had lost my camera equipment. Including my iPhone, which is also, by the way, a camera of it's own right.

We kept up our search for the cameras while we hiked through these trees. Looking up gave us vertigo...the trees were so overwhelming. Then there was some immediate danger. The trees were going to be cut down and we were right in the middle of it all. I told Olivia not to worry; that to have faith that all would work out fine. We'd be safe, that much I knew.

A short while later we then discovered lush and fertile crops were growing right where the trees had been cut down; and in numerous stacks the trees were tied together in neat little bundles.

The unseen voice returned. It told me I had been right all along. It also told me to look in my purse. I opened it up to see my camera equipment had been there the entire time.

I pondered this dream for days. I consulted the oracle. Then I consulted my best friend who gave me the perfect interpretation. She was 100% correct. I'll sum up her analysis by telling you this:

I believe in myself. I've had people who would disagree with the way I do things. They talk, they snicker. They think what they want to think...it's their drama. I don't deal with other people's drama well, I never have. I like to worry about what I'm doing. So that said, initially the overwhelmment I felt resulted in me doubting my abilities. Doubting myself. A darkness came over me in the form of fear. Ridicule. Anxiety. And yet...by sticking to what I believed in, a fruitfulness ensued. A ripe time of fruition was available to me. I was, for lack of a better word-"proven" right.

So naysayers, excuse me while I go harvest my crops. I'm not searching anymore. I've got all I need. It's (the light, & it's) been with me all along.

p.s. The same is true of YOU. Stick to what you know. Believe in what your heart tells you is right. And you too will yield abundance from the seeds you have planted. YOU WILL. Have faith.

Connections & karma.

 
The morning drive is all about the music.  Loud & lovely.  {Oh just go buy the album already, it is fantastic, every last song. Repeatedly. They are poets.} Singing, at the top of our lungs.  The kids exit at the school, I continue on singing solo all the way to work.

I can bake now.  Did I tell you? I'm most impressed.  The kids think I'm a star.  (Shhh, let's allow that for awhile, shall we? They're still young after all.) Okay now for something random yet important methinks.

While reading an article tonight I gasped aloud, and a tear sprang to my eyes.  I sense a very divine connection here in the world of the interwebs, but reading this particular story drilled it home for me.  An expectant woman befriended another on one of those mommy websites, it then became their meeting place to chat and swap stories of expectations, hopes & dreams.  They carried on throughout their pregnancies, births & subsequent child rearing together online, all the while exchanging correspondence, advice and friendship. 

One day while looking at a photograph of the other's child, the woman noticed a distinctively different colour of the child's pupil.  It was white in the photograph, and due to a previous encounter with such a thing, she emailed her online friend immeditately to suggest a doctor's visit.  Her intention wasn't to alarm the woman or cause trouble, just to help. 

It turned out that the child had retinoblastoma.  The email likely saved the child's life.  She has a prosthetic eye now, and is cancer free after having multiple chemo & radiation treatments. 

Why bother telling you this? Because I used to view the internet as superficial.  Social media to me was a waste of time.  Networking and building connections with strangers seemed odd to me.  But in the last year I've really come to value the friendships I've made online.  Each connection a link to my world.  Online life is valuable too.  I hear all the time that people want to limit their online time, to get a "real life" etc.  But to them I say everything in moderation.

There is a reason far beyond what you can see right now for you reading this at this very moment.  And another for you having connected with me at all, be it online or in "real life".  In some cases, with some of you, I've had the pleasure of both.  I've never been disappointed to meet any of you.  Not one, single, solitary regret.

I've flown to Vancouver, Arizona, New York & Florida just to meet with other bloggers.  (I've driven to Toronto and had lunch with a blogger. I have met with the most delightful and charming blogger for lunch and shopping in Niagara on the Lake and we plan to do it again in the spring.)

Each experience different from the next and with each I've had a kind of enlightenment.  Each person has lit up my life to some degree.  So the next time you make an online connection, don't dismiss it as superficial.  You get what you put out.  Remember that simple rule: you attract back in what you have put out into the world. {Plant your hopes with good seeds.}

If you like to sing loud in cars, take photographs, bake, and travel out into the world to meet beautiful "strangers" then perhaps that is what you will get back too. {And you just may even save someone's life.}

who needs a guru~?

 
I do! But since I don't have one, I'll settle for this journal I ordered online. I love doing any kind of "soul" work.  It is gratifying beyond words.  I'm delving in to my core beliefs, and other juicy soul stuff! I can't wait to go home and journal for today.

It has clouded over today.  But nothing will bring me down {yay! Chilean miners!}...I'm cleaning out my studio space tonight. {My basement, lol} There are such fun things lurking down there; paints, ribbons, buttons, glue guns, sparkles, stamps, inks, papers, fabrics! I just may stay down there for awhile. :)
