Mossy terrarium in my window sill. Rainy Saturday.
1. Starting to sew!
2. This is so worth watching, simply beautiful if you love period costume & a riveting story.
3. Would you think a series of commercials could be so soul stirring?
Sunday is a favourite day amongst my family, friends {and heck even my foes} I'm sure of it. So let's carpe diem.
Whip up a delicious feast!
Get out for a fifteen minute power walk.
Sit and read two chapters.
Tidy up just one corner of your home that has irritated you lately...perhaps like me it is underneath the vanity in your bathroom?
Then boldly go where no man has gone before, which is confidently in the direction YOUR particular feet are taking you today. Captain your ship!
xoxo
Ready to captain my ship!! I love Ben Kingsley!! And I love everything on Masterpiece all the period pieces!!!
What are you making?? I haven't done any sewing for years...a sewing machine and I were never good friends!!
I'm off to read a couple of chapters and yes, I'll take care of that messy corner that has been buggy for a month at least!!!
Enjoy the day -- rain and all!

I am attempting to make a couple of things. A pair of pants and a dress. I used to sew tons of clothes in high school. Let's hope it is a skill like riding a bike...in the spring I always feel the need to create, start something fresh or just try something new.

here is the poem written out, definitely moving with Ben K. speaking it aloud:
To live as gently as I can;
To be, no matter where, a man;
To take what comes of good or ill
And cling to faith and honor still;
To do my best, and let that stand
The record of my brain and hand;
And then, should failure come to me,
Still work and hope for victory.
To have no secret place wherein
I stoop unseen to shame or sin;
To be the same when I'm alone
As when my every deed is known;
To live undaunted, unafraid
Of any step that I have made;
To be without pretense or sham
Exactly what men think I am.
To leave some simple mark behind
To keep my having lived in mind;
If enmity to aught I show,
To be an honest, generous foe,
To play my little part, nor whine
That greater honors are not mine.
This, I believe, is all I need
For my philosophy and creed.
Can't wait to see what you've sewn as well as what you've sown in the captaining of your ship.
XOXOXO

I love this...thank you for putting it down here. I am still going over the machine and all it's accoutrement...making sure it is oiled and functioning etc. Then and only then will I do some test runs. I have fat quarters I can sacrifice.
I'm open to making a few things...here and there. Kind of like Zen sewing. A project to distract me from thought.
