We must carry on with this luscious madness called a life, mustn't we? Yes, we must. No matter what the Universe tosses at us. (We asked for it after all.)
It is funny, the inside of the closet at work hosts a tiny corkboard and on it are tiny little remembrances of my life~receipts for lunches I've had, a Polaroid snap of me asking whoever looks at it 'Don't take life so seriously', small teacup pins, postcards, lists, and more. Little gems & treasures.
Corkboards, like dream boards or vision boards-hold for us what we hold dear in our hearts. Memories, tokens, touchstones, keepsakes. A business card from a colleague. A funky restaurant brochure. {We are what we pin up there. Keep it positive.}
A close friend of mine sent me a message today, it read something like this:
Dear Vision Board,
Thank you for my husband's raise and my brand new van. Thank you for my two new clients! You are working very well for me. I believe in you and I know you will continue to work for me. You're the best,
Love,
___________

She is such a positive inspiration to me, a cheerleader and a true friend. She is one of the most open minded people I know. When she felt down on her luck about six months ago she created a vision board. She is now seeing that all the things she meditated on or wished for or whatever language you choose to use...is now coming into her life, and into her focus. All the Universe is conspiring to bring her what she really wants.
There is something really satisfying about ripping beautiful photos out of a magazine, or taking photographs you already own and combining them with pretty ribbons, trinkets, symbols & talismans to create the vision of YOU onto a board. Creative manifestation. Drawing in the people, experiences, things, relationships, health & life you wish to have.
For those of you who do this in your personal lives and find success with it, why not apply these same principles to your business plan? This incredible author blogs right here.
Now shouldn't we all go create our futures right this minute? Pin up your desires. Write them down. Paste them onto a board. Then go look at it every day. Dream it. Breathe it in. Believe it. The vision board is the skeleton of your dreams, the very foundation on which all else is built.
Then, watch it all happen in time.

Have I told you lately that you inspire me?? If not I'm remiss. You do! xo

I love this! I have an old frame that belonged to a huge mirror once... I've been dying to frame a cork board with it and do just that! We recently took all of our framed art - my own art, my husbands marathon posters, wedding photos, found art... and put it up on one wall in the office. It's like one big tribute to US and who we are... thats what I love about cork boards as well... I've got to get that done! As always... your words make me smile!

This reminds me of a project I want to start soon of wine corks all married together to make a corkboard. That will be the foundation of my vision board.

It is amazing how things shift once we open our eyes (and hearts and minds) to all the signs and gifts that are available to use when we get clear on where we want to go and what we want to do. Which reminds me I need to get back to work on my own vision board!

...which all goes along with that old expression, "once you make a decision, the universe conspires to help bring your dreams to fruition." Hmmm, no space for a vision board; perhaps I'll create a virtual one. :) xoxox

First your flower photo is lovely. The flower looks almost like it is floating. I have used the vision board over the years for different purposes and it is always amazing the results. I actually posted a simple post last Monday on clipping pictures and words for different collages. Loved checking out the other blog.

This is a great idea, Gillian. There's a big grey corkboard tucked behind my bedroom dresser. I thought I'd wait to cover it over with canvas - to pretty-fy it before hanging it on the wall. This post is a good kick in the butt to do that this weekend. I'd love to see what YOUR vision board looks like. :)

i am with susanna this is a good kick starter for me. i usually pull those pictures and inspirations and then leave them folded inside a book never to be looked at again.
