They're falling!~ {snowflakes that is}
I love the riot of colour against a backdrop of snow. Winter is such a season of vividness-I regard it with such loving admiration. I love weekends and can't wait for mine to begin (later this afternoon after my last massage appointment~)
Here are some incredible words that moved me this morning, added extra fuel to get me going today. They are from the incomparable Mary Oliver....and her poem The Journey.
One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.

We are only in charge of our own lives, I know that now and I'm running as fast as I can making up for all the lost time I left my life in the control of others. Thank you, my dear friend, for always reminding me of what is important.

Sweetie, thank YOU. So glad we met and have this crazy Canuck connection. But beyond that...you are entirely sweet and I could never forget you putting your arm around me while we stood in the Jordan river and you said, "Come here, Canadian girl! Get your picture taken with me!!!"

Perhaps it was you, Tara, who introduced me to Mary Oliver. I think it was, actually! So thank you.
Looking forward to speaking with you. It has been at least two weeks! lol xoxoxo

Lulu, you know I'm still planning a trip to see you. I wonder what we'll do?
Will we sketch nude models? Will we drink mojitos until the wee hours?
Will we watch movies that make us cry??? LOL
Enjoy Christmas shopping in your flip flops with your Santa hat on. xoxoxo
