Thank you.
A thousand times, thank you.
Lupe wished for me to extend her most heartfelt thanks, for all your well-wishes and good thoughts and prayers. She has pulled through. But not unscathed. See the tentacles are underdeveloped, and her size is kind of small for this stage. The only tentacles you can see on her are the ones above her "back end".
But.
She is a warrior of utmost strength. She will prevail!!
Julian and I ventured down to the lake today to harvest the freshest, yummiest milkweed for her and Frida.
They have already scarfed down a ton of the stuff. I expect they'll pupate in a matter of a day or two. So excited!
A friend of mine quoted Richard Bach here the other day,
"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly."
And so I would say to Lupe and Frida and you too:
The Buddha said of death:
Life is a journey.
Death is a return to earth.
The universe is like an inn.
The passing years are like dust.
Regard this phantom world
As a star at dawn, a bubble in a stream,
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp - a phantom - and a dream.
Yet I say to you:
Keep dreaming. xo
She is lovely! I hope we will get to see her in her next stage of life as well.
