Frida last night at eleven o'clock, suspended under the dull light of a livingroom lamp in the form of a J. She took awhile to choose her place, then spun her silk pad to pupate from. She reminded me of an astronaut; she was weightless and fetal in her space.
After work today, around five o'clock. Frida is now a jade green chrysalis, her old skin sits in a heap directly beneath her. You can make out the exact shell of what she looked like...it is incredible. In eight to ten days we should have an adult monarch. My apologies for the poor quality of photos. I did not want to disturb her by moving her into a better light last night. However if you click on the photos you can view some more detail.

That is the most amazing shade of green I've ever seen. What a lovely soul you are to care this much, to take such wonder from an everyday occurance that is also a miracle.

Wonderful to see nature unfolding as it should, even in an artificial environment! Lovely. xoxox
