Sweetgrass, cedar & sage smudgestick, used in a private sacred prayer ceremony on National Aboriginal Day for Zohrab and I (what an honour)
I painted my toes in c-c-courage. (From the Wizard of Ooh Ahs collection) A sparkly purple that pops. It made me so happy I just wanted to share that with you. I wanted to open up our dialogue with something purple; you know, to set the tone.
I looked at my vision board yesterday, the one that I created last summer with a group of women we had gathered together in the spa. It made me happy to see the images on there, it brought back a certain feeling of hopefulness I had at that time as I carefully cut out (or ripped without care the odd time) the images from books, magazines, brochures. I then glued them on at random, and wrote phrases or words that meant something to me. What is truly remarkable though is that when you set your intention, things happen. Thoughts, when thought, actually become things. It is true. 99% of the images I put on there, including travel, new furniture, and being in better shape...ahem...it has all manifested.
I'm creating an intention list for fall. I plan to do one for each season. Why don't you do one too? I'm sharing a portion of mine here with you today;
- spend more time with my beloved parents, spouse, and children
- host a family dinner at least two times
- a weekend away with the family
- trip to an exotic far off destination
- read at least six books (doesn't sound like much? I'm so busy if I finish one book every two weeks I'm very fortunate....)
- go ephemera hunting in antique shops
- eat organically whenever possible
- walk more in nature
- get a funky fall hat & these boots (don't you just love em!)
- wear flowers in my hair
- try that copper and dark ruby tortoiseshell manicure
- journal every single day before bed (keep that book on my nightstand with a pen at the ready)
- be fully present at all times
- plan my wedding (simple, elegant, intimate, meaningful, beautiful)
What is on your list for fall? (Remember, it is "me" focused. You can heal the world with another list.)
xo
On my list: travel, travel and more travel. Photographing beautiful people and places. Packing up the apartment in preparation for the big move. Visiting my family in the US. Reading more, even on the run (thanks to the Kindle holding many books at once). Taking better care of myself. Walk more. Listen more. Worry less about what other people think and more about what works for me. As President Obama said, appeal to our better angels. And yes, be fully present. xoxox

My beautiful friend, this is what I needed today. I do have a vision board but I need an intention board. It will look very similar to Tara's and yours except for the moving and marriage part. Of all things Cambodia is on my mind and I feel a need to be there.

Oh no ~ those boots are BADASS. I think we might have to be twinsies.
On my list ~ for real ~ set a date to see YOU!

Courage one of my passwords. Yeah! Love the boots too.
Great list. Pondering what will be on mine.

Can I put "go to Gillian and Julian's wedding" on my list? Is that too pretentious to assume you would invite me? I've already done so much this year but I do need to have INTENT to do more.

Yes, yes, yes to those boots.
I've been thinking I need to update my vision board. I did it last spring so it's gotten a bit dusty. ;)

It's always so inspiring to stop by here, why don't I do it more often? Well, for the past three months I've had little to no internet access, and that's had some useful repercussions. But I haven't made a vision board in forever, it's high time. My past month gave me so many tantalizing glimpses of a beautiful new life, the one I've been dreaming about for years, and I need to...what? Consolidate? Record? Simply give thanks for? I don't know. But this sounds like a good place to start. Thanks, Gillian.
