And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, Lying in a manger.~ St. Luke
Christmas is the day that holds all time together.~ Alexander Smith
Roses are reddish
Violets are bluish
If it weren't for Christmas
We'd all be Jewish.~Benny Hill
I had to end those quotes with a funny one! I used to love watching Benny Hill, him running around after the girls to the silly music. What a prat, as my mother would say! Well the stockings are hung, I'm pouring a hot cup of tea, and I'll settle my brain for a long winter's nap before too long. Goodnight, and a very Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year too!
xoxo
Grateful:
1.Hot coffee!
2.Friends!
3.A few days off!!!!
Benny Hill!!! I'd forgotten about that "prat"!!! He was too outrageous and funny!!
Wishing you and your family a most blessed Christmas...don't forget the roast beast...and beautiful thoughts for a promising New Year filled with possibility! xo

Wishing you the very best of the season and the coming year. One of the highlights of 2009, for me, is that you are back in my life. You are one special lady. Enjoy your time off. xo

That Benny Hill quote is cracking me up! In case I don't get by here tomorrow, and of course, it is highly unlikely, it being Christmas day and all. I wanted to wish you the happiest, the merriest, the laughingest Christmas you've ever enjoyed. Merry Christmas, my friend.

It was the shepherds and nobodies who got to look at his sleeping face that night. I’m awestruck by that.
Happy Christmas in this, our quadracentennial season, Gillian. I’m dangling some virtual mistletoe overhead - mwah! Joining you and yours in spirit on this most wonderful day of the year.

Looking forward to Christmas with you our family dear daughter.
Reading Jeaux's comment reminded me of one of my favourite poems for this season..
written by U.A. Fanthorpe
BC:AD
This was the moment when Before
Turned into After, and the future's
Uninvented timekeepers presented arms.
This was the moment when nothing
Happened. Only dull peace
Sprawled boringly over the earth.
This was the moment when even energetic Romans
Could find nothing better to do
Than counting heads in remote provinces.
And this was the moment
When a few farm workers and three
Members of an obscure Persian sect.
Walked haphazard by starlight straight
Into the kingdom of heaven.
U A Fanthorpe died earlier this year at the age of 79.
