Our lives are batik; colourful layers of intentional living.
So start with please opening a fresh window- then click HERE. Karsh Kale is a someone you'll want to turn up your speakers for.
The light pours in through my little piece of Granville Island Market stained glass. A memento both my sister-in-law Diane and I bought, to remind us of our trip to meet Maddie, the Sea to Sky highway and having a few too many the night before we flew home. (Diane's glass piece is slightly larger than mine, but no less beautiful ;)
Baby it's cold outside. Shot from the second floor dining room window, into the back yard. Today was marscapone fields and whipped potato dreams.
Guess who? Modeling my new apron from Graciel. That Evenstar art girl gifted me the apron in November, and so I wore it finally. To prepare spaghetti with hot Italian sausage and fresh tomato sauce (honestly, chopping the tomatoes myself and all!)
I nearly baked brownies but talked myself out of it. I would only eat them.
An old friend. Salvaged from a old dusty bus station office. Copyright 1895. This little guy is missing the Y key. Why?
A star lantern hangs in a window, showing off it's own radiant red hue. I guess I'm hooked on coloured glass. (Anything that radiates from within.)
The fabric of our lives is woven with even the most mundane moments. With bored children who get on each other's nerves and consequently yours. With comments left from friends who never left your radar. With extending a caring hug and friendly word to a friend who has lost someone close. With the cleaning of basements and house hunting. With exploring exciting new projects!!! And best of all, trying out some new baking.
How colourful is your fabric?
Love your Sunday gallery:) That stained glass window is beautiful:)

Being Canadians, we must seek the colour in winter! But funny, when you look...it's everywhere, isn't it?

You look smashing in the twin to my vintage apron. I'll be strapping mine on tomorrow for morning glory muffins and big pots of apple sauce.
Love your post. xo

Quite a beautiful tapestry you've got there, Gillian.
My world is pretty darn colorful at the moment. I'm very much looking forward to tomorrow and our new president.

This post is a great example of why I love reading your blog. It is in layers just like batik. Beautiful coloured glass, a lovely apron, window with a snowy view and Sundays at home. Four project looks cool too.

The coloured glass is beautiful, especially the red star. I love it!
Your apron rocks and the fact that you cook fresh tomato sauce makes you TOPS in my book, little lady. Bravo!
If only I could have a view like yours from my dining room window. Life is SO not fair!!

Actually honey, it's a scarlet star!!!
Yup, fresh tomato sauce...it was delish. I have some leftover, which as you know, will taste even better than the original.
Okay, it is official; we are trading views!! I'll take some Miami sand and sun.

Girl, your blog is just the neatest place, I always feel wrapped up in nice things when I am here.
I am back from England without losing my head, though I did see the Tower of London.

i have exactly that same typewriter. A. wrote his thesis on it many years ago. one peck at a time. ours has very interesting patent dates on it on the back. in fact you may have inspired a post for me!!

Oh, I so enjoyed reading this post and seeing your photos. I just talked with Maddie last night and I can just imagine you all hanging out with one another in Vancouver. And you know what? I have a similar typewriter sitting on the living floor. I just love the heavy, industrial look of it, especially with the red ribbon all tangled inside. I do love ribbons. And that red star is beautiful. I do love red. :)

Why don't I have such a beautiful apron. I must look into getting one. It has to make cooking, more glorious!
The fields and dreams, sound delicious. : )

Oh! There it is again! And you got it on this side of the country....so that means that if I can't find the ones I was looking for in Victoria, all I have to do is jump on the ferry.
