Tonight, I'm baking cinnamon sugar cookies.
They will dunk into my hot sweet tea just so.
I will finish "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, a book I'm loving.
I will write a letter to the Universe asking for help.
Because I just can't fix some things without a little help from out There.
Keep us in your thoughts please.
EDIT:
Since my mom doesn't blog anymore, and those of you who know us well will be wondering...say a prayer for my dad for the next few weeks he is undergoing chemotherapy. We are all nervous, and anxious for the best for his health.
xo
The Alchemist is one of my all time favorite books. So many lovely messages.
Much, much light and love to you and yours, Gill. xoxo

Thank you Steph. I should have known that it would be your kind of book.
I appreciate the light, and will pass it on to those I love.

Love how you 'just so dip the cookie in the tea'...how you just so write a few words with a photo and make magic! Thinking of you...and trusting the process as it unfolds xx

Have I missed a very important post? Are you O.K.? I will keep you right beside my heart until I hear. My Sister-in-Law tells me the book is so much better in spanish. I wish I could read it. I've read the english version and it is magical. xo

Thank you Linni, I feel rather helpless right now.
Sometimes (unfortunately) I turn to sweet food like cookies for a crutch.
BTW, they are gone. My kids had a few each and I had the rest. Not good
:-(

Hey Lib
No, I didn't tell you guys what it was.
We are deeply concerned about my dad's health. The next few weeks will be very important for us.
We are hoping that you all keep us in your thoughts.

Mmmmm, cinnamon cookies! :-) May I have one?
Posted by: Shay | November 27, 2008 at 08:59 PM
Burp! Sorry Shay :-) All gone.
Emotional eating, you know? ;)
I'm making another batch next week, and when you use Becel instead of
butter, the water makes them puff up nicely.
Almost like fluffy texture! (Take them out of the oven two minutes early and
they have a chewier texture. Mmm!)

Yes, I recommended it to someone again today. I can't stop promoting this
book.
I feel like Oprah. Only without as much money. :-)

I had been wondering what was happening with your Dad but didn't want to bother your mom with a bunch of questions. Thank you for posting this update. All of you have been in my prayers throughout.
The Alchemist has always been a favourite of mine - I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I recommend it to almost everyone I meet and can't believe I never mention it to you! Would you mind posting the cookie recipe or sending it to me? xoxoxox

Try using real Cinnamon in your recipe and reduce on the sugar. The Cinnamon sold in the US is actually Cassia.
Cassia has a chemical called coumarin which could be toxic. Please click the link below to read more.

I had no idea, my friend. I am praying for all of you; a special prayer though for your papi.
The Alchemist was highly recommended and I enjoyed it...but like Eat, Pray, Love it left me wanting more. See if you get the same reaction.
With love and my best thoughts and wishes...para ti, tu mama y tu papa...Ily
