No, this is not a food blog. Sadly. But I love food!
Today I'd like to share with you my latest craze. I am currently addicted to this salad. It is a recipe I adapted from my sister-in-law's friends recipe. (Pretty convoluted, huh?) Without further adieu, (and you simply must try this)...here goes;
Blueberry Poppyseed Salad
A handful and a half of organic spring mix per person you are serving
Two tablespoons of poppyseed dressing per person you are serving (mix half Renee's and half Kraft, it tastes much better, don't ask why! I think it is because of the onions in the Renee's, yummy!)
One tablespoon of honey roasted sunflower seeds per person you are serving
Half a cup (per person you are serving!) of cucumbers, diced without the skin
Half a cup (per person you are serving, yes!) of fresh blueberries
Now;
Toss it all like mad. Slap on a plate. Add any accoutements you may desire, such as diced tofu, pulled chicken, sliced beef or skewered grilled shrimp. Myself I go for tuna the odd time!
Or, alternatively, enjoy it all on it's own. Straight up.
The original recipe called for sliced strawberries. It too, is super good. However, I substituted blueberries and liked it better. Mandarin oranges work well in this salad too.
Tip; Be sure to go check your teeth after. This salad makes for some comical smiles! You just may be sporting a poppy seed or two in your canines.
OK....it's 10:30 pm here. I SO need to loose weight. Now you have me drooling and I'm going to have to go to bed hungry.
....but I will dream about bueberries....mmmmmmmmmzzzzzzzz

hahaah comical smiles! I bet :)
It sounds absolutely delicious. Shame that it's really rare to find blueberries over here. It's not a berry of choice, sadly. But I'm sure I could replace it with something else. The picture is lush!
